Every Smart Toilet Feature, Explained (And Which Ones Actually Matter)
1. Heated seat — the gateway feature
Adjustable from off to 104°F. Most customers settle around 95°F. If you can only have one feature, this is the one. The biggest mood-changer on cold tile in a Coral Gables marble bathroom at 6am. Every FlowLux includes it.
2. Warm water bidet wash — the one you'll defend
A water nozzle extends from the back of the seat and washes you with warm water (adjustable 92–104°F). Once you've used it, paper alone will feel inadequate. Premium models have separate front (feminine) and rear wash settings. The FlowLux Halo, Nova, Eclipse, and all bidet attachments include both.
3. Warm air dryer — the surprise hero
After the wash, a stream of warm air dries you. Sounds gimmicky until you use it. Eliminates paper entirely. Strongest on the FlowLux Nova and Eclipse.
4. Auto open/close lid
A sensor detects your approach and opens the lid; lifts the seat for men with a button or foot tap; closes behind you when you walk away. Once you have it, you'll forget toilets ever required hands.
5. Foot sensor flush
Tap your foot under the bowl and the toilet flushes. No reaching back, no twisting. The best aging-in-place feature on the market.
6. Self-cleaning nozzle
Before and after every wash, the bidet wand UV-sterilizes itself and rinses with electrolyzed water. You don't think about it, but it's why FlowLux smart toilets stay sanitary for months without manual scrubbing.
7. Pre-mist bowl coating
Before you sit down, the bowl is coated with an electrolyzed mist that prevents anything from sticking. Skip-rate for needing a brush drops dramatically.
8. Deodorizer
An activated-carbon fan pulls air from the bowl during use and after. The bathroom smells like — nothing. No spray needed.
9. Night light
