Smart Toilet Installation in South Florida: A Step-by-Step Guide

Before we arrive
We coordinate a 2-hour delivery and install window. You don't have to be home for delivery if a doorman or concierge can sign — but for installation we ask that an adult is on-site. We confirm the model, your rough-in (12" is standard), and whether your bathroom has a 110V GFCI outlet within 4 feet.
Step 1 — Old toilet removal
We shut off the water supply, disconnect the flexible line, drain the bowl and tank, unbolt the floor flange, and carry the old toilet out. The old wax ring is scraped clean and the flange inspected. If the flange is damaged or sitting too low — common in older Miami homes built on slab — we swap it before continuing.
Step 2 — Floor prep & wax ring
A fresh wax ring is placed on the flange. For wall-hung models like the FlowLux Lunar, we install the carrier system inside the wall instead — a longer process but the result is a floating bowl that frees up roughly 9 inches of floor space.
Step 3 — Setting the FlowLux
The smart toilet is lowered into place, leveled, and bolted down. Bolt caps are sealed. A new flexible supply line is connected to the angle stop, the water turned on, and the system pressurized.
Step 4 — Electrical & calibration
We plug the toilet into the GFCI outlet and run the seat sensor calibration. The heated-seat target temp, water-wash temp, dryer intensity, and night light brightness are all configured to your preferences. The remote (where included) is paired.
Step 5 — Final cleanup & walkthrough
We re-caulk the base, wipe down the entire unit, and run a 5-minute walkthrough on every feature with you. We answer questions, register the warranty, and haul away the old toilet and packaging.
How long it takes
Most FlowLux installs are 60–120 minutes. Wall-hung Lunar installs run 3–4 hours because of the carrier system. Same-week scheduling across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie counties.
DIY tips if you're doing it yourself
Watch the install video, lay a towel down to protect tile, keep a wet/dry vacuum nearby to drain residual water, and use a torque wrench so you don't over-tighten the floor bolts (a common cause of cracked porcelain). Allow 90 minutes if it's your first smart toilet.
